GRAB (The Asian Uber/Lyft) is the app that you should download to get around Bali. GRAB services most popular areas (Kuta/Nusa Dua/Seminyak). If you go further out (Balangan, Ulu Watu), it might be a little more difficult to get a GRAB as some rural areas are Anti E-Hailing!

Indonesia has made it a little more tedious to get a local SIM Card. If you choose to do so, you must register your phone and ID at the airport in order to acquire a local SIM. It is highly recommended that you check with your personal provider for Roaming Data options. For Malaysians on Maxis, please check out ASEAN Pass that starts at RM 49 for 7 days, 2GB of data per day.

Let’s say if you set aside USD 100 a day for a person, you will live like a king.

For comparison, a meal at McDonalds in Bali is around USD 4, so a local meal would probably be cheaper than that. The local beer (Bintang) is USD 1.50 per bottle. Most foods worth trying are street foods and cash will most probably be required for that.

Exchanging your USD/SGD at the airport itself will result in better exchange rates. Street side Money Changers have great rates but if you do change it with them, please count your cash!

Malaysians advised to change at home!

Having a WISE card is also an option!
